1. Core Features of the App

QR Code Scanner - FastCode is a free app designed for fast and secure QR code scanning and creation. Its primary features include:

• QR Code/Barcode Scanning:
  • Direct scanning using your device’s camera.
  • Scanning QR codes from images stored in your gallery.
• QR Code Creation: Supports formats compatible with the ZXing library, including:
  • Contact (name, phone number, email).
  • Email (email address, subject).
  • Geolocation (GPS coordinates).
  • Calendar event (title, date, location).
  • Wi-Fi (SSID, password).
  • Phone (phone number).
  • URL (website or online resource link).

All scan results and created QR codes are securely stored on your device and are never sent to our servers.

2. Required Permissions and Transparency

To deliver the App’s core features, we require certain device permissions. Below are the permissions and their purposes:

• Camera: Needed to scan QR codes or barcodes directly via your device’s camera. This permission is only active during scanning.
• Storage/Gallery: Used to access images in your gallery for scanning QR codes from stored images or to save scan results and created QR codes on your device.
• Internet: Enables displaying ads via AdMob (if applicable), accessing Google Analytics, and supporting app updates through the Google Play Store. Internet access is not used to send your data.
• Wi-Fi: Allows access to network information (e.g., SSID, password) when creating a Wi-Fi QR code. This information is only accessed during QR code creation.
• Location (GPS): Required to retrieve coordinates when creating a geolocation-based QR code. This permission is only used when you explicitly create such a QR code.

These permissions are solely used to support the App’s functionality and are not used to collect personal data.

3. Data We Collect

We do not collect or store your data on our servers. All data is managed locally on your device, as outlined below:

• Scan Results and QR Codes: Stored locally with encryption. Permanently deleted when you uninstall the App.
• QR Code Creation: Information is accessed temporarily and not retained unless saved locally.
• Non-Personal Analytics: Google Analytics collects anonymous data to improve the App. Cannot identify you.
• Ads (AdMob): May collect advertising ID to serve relevant ads. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Services: Governed by Google’s privacy policies.

We do not collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number, nor do we share your data with third parties, except as described for Google services.

4. Data Security

• Secure Local Storage: Data stored on your device with encryption.
